Open pollinated.
Biennial to Zone 5. A unique color selection of a cottage-garden classic. First-year basal rosette of large soft mid-green leaves comes back the following year with tall spikes of large showy tubular speckled apricot ombre flowers that fade to pale pink. Each plant produces several large main spikes, followed by smaller secondary spikes for months.
If you’re cutting these for arrangements, leave the secondary spikes for the bees and to reseed. Bees love foxgloves, disappearing into the deep flowers to retrieve the nectar. 4–5' tall.
Thrives in average to acidic garden soil, from full sun to shade. Surface sow indoors 8 weeks before last frost. Caution: all parts of the plant, including seeds, are toxic.
