Open pollinated.
Perennial to Zone 4. Also called Blue Sea Holly and Eryngo. Shimmery silver-blue multi-branched stems hold thistle-like flowers surrounded by halos of deep blue spiky bracts. Otherworldly in bloom, Blue Glitter adds texture to flower arrangements, fresh or dried. Beloved by bees; ignored by deer.
This rugged plant loves sun, heat, well-drained soil; even holds its own in high salt and coastal locations. Blooms its second summer and onward. Grows to 36–42" tall.
Surface sow seeds in pots inside 10–16 weeks before planting.
