Late summer, greenish yellow skin.

Seedling found in Aldermaston, England. Introduced to the U.S. in the late 1700s. Also known as Williams’ Bon Chrétien.

The most widely planted and well known of all pears in U.S. commercial production. Adaptable to many climates and soils. Large greenish-yellow classic oblong pear-shaped fruit; very good quality. Full reliable annual crops. Might be iffy north of Bangor.

Large vigorous easy-to-grow long-lived tree bears young. Susceptible to fireblight. Good pollinator for Asian Pears. Z4.
